A&Y came out and trimmed 12 trees for me. The trimming itself was done just fine. I (thought) had an agreement that the company would chip all the branches and I would handle the logs (they would stay in place and I would cut myself). However, a number of branches that could have been chipped were not, and a lot of small material left in piles. I have at least two cubic yards of material that was not chipped, that I will have to deal with. I was told, after the crew was gone, that they don't chip 'small stuff'. What are branches, if not 'small stuff'? Anyway, I'm unhappy with the amount of work I have to clean up after the crew. I would have expected everything to be chipped that was small enough, and all the brush cleaned and stacked in one location. I did not have that written on the contract -- my fault. I assumed they would be professional and this would be done. It wasn't. If you have them do work for you, be absolutely sure to write a contract that is very specific on what will be cleaned up, chipped, or hauled away.
